This Week in Atlanta
There are several events going on this week in and around Atlanta. Here's what we like. You can also look at our calendar and you can add our calendar to your Google Calendar as well.
Green Business Works Expo 2008 - Tuesday kicks off the week with the Green Business Works Expo 2008. At last count there are 69 exhibitors and participants. the event is a two day event at the Cobb Galleria. Visit GreenBusinessWorksExpo.net for more info.
2nd Annual Green Trunk Show - Laura Turner Seydel is putting on the Green Trunk Show at her home EcoManor where you can shop and experience several of the top eco friendly clothing designers in Atlanta. Link for more info.
Confident City Bicycling Class - This $35 class is being put on by the Atlanta Bicycle Campaign. The classes are meant to increase confidence to ride safely and legally
in traffic or on the trail, or to teach your children to do so. Some of the things covered will be laws affecting bicycles, the importance of visibility and
predictability, lane positioning, intersection safety, interacting with
pedestrians, trail etiquette, bicycle safety checks, fixing a flat,
on-bike skills, crash avoidance techniques, basic bicycling gear, and more. There are also two additional classes coming up in Decatur & Dunwoody Link for more info.
Farmers' Markets - As always, there are several farmers markets going on this week.
- Wednesday - Spruill Green Market in Dunwoody from 8 till noon.
- Saturday - Alpharetta Farmers' Market from 8 till 1pm., Riverside Farmers' Market in Roswell from 8 till noon, Piedmont Park Green Market from 8 till 1pm.
This is just a sample of the green events that are going on in the Atlanta area this week.
