City vs Suburb Growth

I thought this was a telling infographic from this article from the WSJ today.  It confirms a lot of what we already know to be true here at NUR.  That is that preferences are shifting to a more walkable lifestyle where amenities are closer in proximity and people are more likely to have chance encounters with their neighbors.  If Roswell is going to thrive in the coming decades, we need to increase the choices available for a walkable urban lifestyle.

What a great graphic from the WSJ. That paper, incidentally, has printed some surprisingly pro-city, ant-sprawl material over the last couple of years. Someone there has some nice urbanist tendencies.

I think this trend and its obvious benefits will end up having a good effect on Roswell and other cities in the metro as the need for a walkable urban development style becomes more publicized.

Interesting graphic. It makes me think there are probably some real investment opportunities in those cities with declining centers, considering the land - itself - is worth more in the long wrong.
