Goulding Place Single Family Renderings

While sifting through the upcoming city meetings schedule, I came across the first renderings I've seen of the Front Door Communities single family product that will be going up at Goulding Place.  I'm a little disappointed by the percentage of homes that have front loader garages.  That really isn't in keeping with the rest of Goulding Place even though the builder is making some effort to maintain a consistent architecture.  The biggest thing I like about this project is the opportunity for connectivity.

Here are the images beginning with the Site Plan..

Had the same reaction. Was initially interested in potentially buying there until I saw these designs. These guys are ex-Weiland and these designs reflect that heritage

If you have a chance, drive down Goulding Place. Look at the quint, historic homes. Some are over 100 years old. Then, look at the end of the street. This is where they will be stuffing 40 dwellings (30 town homes and 10 houses) around the historic Goulding house. This was approved by our HPC. So, picture a little stem (goulding place) and then the head of the mushroom (Goulding Village). Sadly, the two will not match in style or scope. Buildings will be mashed together in this new development. The landscape will be dramatically different. Our street is ruined. The HPC broke their promise to the HIstoric District. Allowing this community to be built as is RUINED an existing historic street. The whole purpose of the HPC is to "protect and preserve" the "historic character of the area".
Epic fail.

My wife and I are so disappointed in the looks of these. We also were interested in purchasing in the area, but it does not look likely that it will be on Goulding. They should have used the same architects as Vickery Creek.

Well, obviously Wood, and/or Henderson, and/or city council members are getting their palms greased. Far out of place in terms of design, quality, and price. Thanks for taking the quaint, classic, unique feel of historic Roswell and moving toward Anyotherplace, USA. Not to mention if anyone thought about traffic impact or are you planning on making Canton Street a four lane? What a bunch of sellouts!

There is now a 40+ foot retaining wall behind several homes to accommodate the Goulding development. Drive down Wildflower terrace or Roswell Hills Pl to see the walls. At the end of each street's cul-de-sac you will see a 40+ foot block retaining wall towering over the homes. I'm amazed that no one has brought attention to these grotesque walls. I feel awful for the people that bought homes at the end's of those streets and now have a giant wall looming over their heads. Let's hope the wall is structurally sound and the new residents at Goulding don't throw stuff over the ledge.

I meant Windflower trace not Wildflower terrace in the previous post. I'll try to take some photo's of the wall and link them on this site.
